QMES 2.0 is a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the shop floor: one web app with which operators, shift leaders, maintenance and administrators follow and control production. It is a demo with simulated factory data. All company, department and staff names are made up. What it does: a live dashboard with OEE (availability, performance and quality) per department and machine. An operator terminal for production orders (starting, pausing, finishing and registering rejects). Quality control with gates and step-by-step routings. Maintenance and alarms. An SAP S/4HANA department with production orders, materials management, quality notifications, tool management and an interface monitor with background jobs. And an optional AI copilot (“Joule”, via the Anthropic API) that distributes orders across departments. Several terminals stay in sync via WebSockets, and if the ERP connection fails, the app buffers bookings locally and sends them afterwards in order. Administration and security: staff management with roles (operator, shift leader, admin) and adjustable permissions per employee, password rules, CSRF protection, rate limiting, backups with restore, and a setup wizard that chooses between a built-in SQLite database or MySQL/MariaDB. There are also adapters for PLC connections (OPC UA and MTConnect) and synchronisation between multiple sites.
